I know it may be a little drive but there is a Portuguese bakery on Taunton Rd & Salem in Ajax. I take Steeles all the way (turns into Taunton Rd).
Close to Swiss Chalet, S/E corner.

I believe they sometimes carry sugar free gelato. I am not too sure about baked goods/desserts but you can call ahead of time and ask.
